Who I am

My name is Stephan Mairesse and I am a specialist in dog training techniques and behavioral problems for 25 years. I train dogs worldwide. I work in jail, with prisoners, for pet therapy and I trains dogs for explosive detection for elite police units. I am a teacher, author of textbooks and director of educational films and also a consultant for municipalities. I bred dogs for several years and lived with a pack of 20 dogs at home for 6 years.

All these experiences has allowed me to set up and refine my training method, both in terms of content (knowledge) and form (frequency, duration and organization of lessons).

My work

Dog training is more about training the owners than the animal itself, taking dog training lessons is like learning a new language.

My work consists of two distinct but strongly complementary and inseparable parts:

- The first part consists in teaching the essential bases of ethology and canine behavior which are essential to communicate correctly with a dog. From this teaching stems a certain number of rules of life which are to be put in place at home, they are essential to obtain a balanced dog and allow a harmonious relationship with him.

- The second part is to teach to dog owners how to make their animal obey, the different commands. The teaching serves above all to be able to have an obedient dog in all circumstances of daily life so that it can accompany you everywhere, remain calm and obey you extremely well when you need it.

The commands that will be taught are :

- Walking correctly and obediently next to you.

- Returns to you immediately when he/she is untied whatever the situation.

- Lie down/sit and stay wherever you need and for time you need.

- Go to his place and stay there.

It is also possible to teach your dog more advanced commands such as lying down at a distance, walking on foot without the leash... I am specialized in dogs behavior issues so I can work on : Aggressivity, fears, anxiety, destructive dog at home, barking or unclean when alone, dog that is not clean in the presence of the master, dogs who jump at everybody…

I only give private lessons, each master having neither the same expectations, nor the same needs, nor the same learning difficulties. I put at your disposal my 25 years of professional experience
